Massapequa Road Runners Testimonials

DEAR DR. JEFF, 

On Saturday, August 6th, the Massapequa Road Runners presented the 23nd Annual Massapequa Park Mile race in conjunction with the Massapequa Merchants Street Fair. This year’s event was a great success, with a large turnout of runners, young and old, who turned out to compete.

We also held a “Kids Fun Run ” so that the younger children could have a sense of participation, with each child receiving a medal at the finish line.

Our ability to provide safety and comfort to the athletes who participate is made possible, in a large part, by the efforts of yourself in providing medical coverage for our competitors. We thank you for helping us to continue to provide what we believe is a quality event that allows local athletes to test themselves at a distance not commonly found in road racing.

We look forward to next year’s race, as well as a continuing relationship between the Massapequa Road Runners Club and you.

Massapequa Park Mile

Dr. Jeff Poplarski has been the sports medicine director for the Massapequa Firecracker 5K race for the past 19 years.



As such, Dr. Poplarski has overseen the welfare and safety of the 500 plus runners who participate each year by assembling a team of safety and health care professionals including Massapequa Fire Department, EMS, REACT, Doctors of Chiropractic, Massage Therapists and more, all at the ready for any emergency that may arise.

Dr. Jeff's sports medicine expertise and presence at our event has enhanced the safety aspects of the race.
